The seaside resort of Blackpool just has to be one of the most popular places to spend a weekend in the North West region if not the whole of England. Blackpool is easily accessible by road rail and even air, this Lancashire attraction is readily accessed by the M6 and M55 motorway network and frequent rail services connect from all the major towns and cities.

You will not be lost for exciting attractions when you visit Blackpool, to pump up your adrenalin a visit to the pleasure beach will do the trick. There is the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in Europe, all the white knuckle rides you could dream of, 125 in all. Ice skating and 54 restaurants, and areas specially designed for the kids, what more could you want from a pleasure centre?

Possibly the most recognised and famous of landmarks has to be Blackpool Tower standing proud over Blackpool for 112 years entertaining generations of people who have visited Blackpool over the years. One fee and you are entertained over no less than five floors. The Tower Ballroom with its famous Wurlitzer organ, the would be Gene Kelly’s, the undersea world a hit with kids and of course the famous Tower Circus, a whole world rolled into one.

Blackpool Zoo is home to more than 1500 animals and is set in 32 acres of parkland making it a haven for nature and wildlife enthusiasts of all ages. A miniature train runs through the whole area saving those tired feet! Keeping to the natural theme the Sealife centre is an underwater paradise for hundreds of marine animals and freshwater dwellers, here you can journey to the bottom of the sea and experience the giant shark tank and watch as these masters of the sea, up to eight feet in length pass over your head.

No visit to Blackpool would be complete without a stroll down one of Blackpool’s two Victorian piers. Here you will be offered five star entertainments, restaurants, shops, arcades bars and many other attractions that have featured here for over 140 years.

It does not stop with the attractions mentioned, Blackpool has to have something for everyone, but the one that stands out every year is a trip to see the Blackpool illuminations, just think these all began with eight electric arc lamps way back in 1879 and now we see 6 miles of fabulous lights incorporating the latest technology. Take a weekend break and ride a tram to see this electric extravaganza before taking a leisurely stroll to the north shore, something you will remember for the rest of your life.
